A Fellow Preemie Mom Who Understands What it Means to be a NICU Parent

“I believe our life’s work is always to learn something new. Being a preemie mom has solidified this truth.”

- Jodi Klaristenfeld

Being a preemie parent is a superpower.

I am a preemie parent - my daughter was born at 28 weeks when my seemingly perfect pregnancy took a turn for the worst. The next thing I knew, it was 3 days after my daughter was born and I had no idea what just transpired.

It was as if my husband and I got our medical degrees without having ever applied to school and we became members of the preemie parent club, which we don’t ever remember thinking about joining. I was physically, emotionally and mentally unprepared.

What followed was a journey of self-discovery and renewed purpose.

Through my own personal journey and years of experience in the fields of coaching, mental health and well-being, education, empowerment, and advocacy, I will help you make and sustain choices that align with you and your family’s needs during this most pivotal time in your lives.

It’s possible but not easy.

It’s hard to sometimes see the forest through the trees, especially when you don’t have the right support or a guide holding your hand the whole way. And you have probably tried many things to change the way you feel, whether it is reading articles, scrolling the internet, or asking your friends but yet, you still find the circumstances in your life upsetting and alone.

Just as your baby is cared for by doctors, you will be cared for by a preemie parent who knows exactly what you are going through. Let’s be friends. Let’s be lifelong friends. You are not alone.
